I found a really good burst disk for high pressures. the plastic that most toys are in is great. in a half inch union it didn't even burst at 150 psi but it came very close. I didn't pump any more because I was inside and it would have been too loud. I also found a leak in my gun that I had to fix. I will post some pics in a minute. now instead of using 20 layers of aluminum foil I can jsut use one layer of this.

Do mind that plastic may make schrapnel and shards coming out of your barrel, like a shotgun.

Waiting for the pics!

yeah but you can use two layers to get to 340 instead of a lot of aluminum foil

Could you tell me what is in that fuzzy picture?
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

You must have some weird aluminun foil there, because with the stuff I use, 16 layers bursts at ~450psi in a 1" union. The problem with your idea is, you can buy aluminum foil in bulk, but you have to actually buy toys to get the clamshell packaging.

Doubt that because 8 layers bursts at 160psi for me and i use the heavy duty type that is thicker.

but this is a good idea but it is only temporary.
you are going to run out eventually and ten as DYI said you will need to buy more toys.

But ill test it and see how it works out for me.

Well it bursted at a high pressure using only one layer is because your using a 1/2 inch union, bigger unions would hold much less pressure using that same material.

That's about what 8 layers bursts at for me. For some reason, it doesn't quite seem to be a linear pattern. And I tried the "heavy duty" foil, and it burst at a lower pressure than the standard stuff I use

That is just weird
Twice the thickness of foil burst at almost three times the pressure :?
and the thinner foil bursts at a higher pressure than the thicker foil.

Why....Why is this happening to us
