Moddifying a small sprinkler valve

Because potatoes only last one shot!

hey peeps i was wondering whether you can moddify one of those small sprinkler valves for pneumatic actuation and if they are able to with stand decent pressures like say 120psi or so

It's been done hundreds of times, take a look at the pneumatic section
...and if they are able to with stand decent pressures like say 120psi or so
The ones I've seen are normally rated to 150 psi.

thanks, but are we thinking of the same size sprinkler valves here ?? i couldnt find a pic of one but there the ones with hose barbs on them instead of screw threads like the one ive modded already

Any solenoid valve can theoretically be modded, all you have to do is find a way to fit a blowgun to the port normally exhausted by the solenoid.

cool yeah thats what i thought, all i have to do now is find a really cheap one from some where and see if i can. it will be used on my new sniper that ive designed and half built

i dont think jsr knows the ones you mean, ive seen them in bunnings and have thought the same thing.

my conclusion is no, as the solenoid is the the lid basically.

ill try to find a pic and edit this post.

how much pressure do think these could hold and could they provide me with what im looking for ( a good valve for my latest sniper )

well for starters they would have sh*t flow, but whats your intended caliber?

They would probably be able to withstand quite alot because of thier size and the small diaphragm

i was just at bunnings shudda got a pic for every1 lol

bolt action multiple shot only using it around 100-130psi or so

if its the ones im thinking (the small electrical type ones, without female threads)

your looking at $25 from modbury and parafield.

i would go with the 1" black ones for 15 bucks. hell better flow, easyier to mod, BUT they would be big and an overkill. but cheaper :D

i would get a qev personally, less hassle, just plug and play for small caliber

hmmm ill take a look next time im at bunnings because m10 is way to expensive. btw the valve has to be as low profile as possible.

i dont know where your at in this sunburnt land but ova here in dub-a there is a shop that sells pnue and hydro equipment.
