Installing a motor on a BMX bike...
It looks fairly easy installing a motor on to a BMX bike. It's just cutting, mounting, welding, lining up, and wiring...right? I have everything to do this (BMX bike, tools, power tools). I just need a motor now. Which motor should I use that can fit a BMX bike, but have at least 3HP. I want to hit at least 15mph...Any ideas?
i've never tried mounting a motor onto a bike... although i still think that it would be cool to make your own pulse jet engine and mount that on
. lol just kiddin.
Lol, I've been scared of mountains ever since I crashed. I was mountain biking and I was going VERY fast because the mountain is pretty steep. I was too nervous to think so I hit the front break instead of the back break and I got tossed a couple feet.)DEMON( wrote:you could make it a bmx/moutain bike hybrid if you put some gears on it , then you could go fast.I go at least 50kph on my mountain bike sometimes
But will a lawn mower motor be good?

A lawn mower engine on a bike?? That might make it kinda heavy.
4.If you have enough grease & a big enough hammer, you can put anything... anywhere
3.If all else fails, hit it with a big hammer
2.Matter will be damaged in direct proportion to its value
1.If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway

If your really intent on doing this, i sagest a chainsaw engine. The lawnmower engine would have to hang off 1 side to far to be pratacable. With electric you would run out of cord. The pulse jet has allready been done. Thats as far as i'm going on this idea!
