I can help someone build a website...

Well for the end of year final in my general computer class we are supposed to design a website. Since we have only learned basic HTML, this isn't supposed to be anything amazing, but through my years on the internet I have picked up enough knowledge to make a nice looking website. (Everyone I showed my previous HTML/CSS, and flash sites to thought they looked really nice)

So here is the thing: I hate working on things that serve no purpose. So I would like to design a website with a purpose. I don't have one personally, but perhaps someone out there does have a purpose for a site? If your really serious about spudding or whatever, however I'd shy against personal websites. (A site solely dedicated to yourself)

I would like to challenge myself so this isn't going to be any half assed site, but the due date is a couple of weeks out.

web design is really fun, btw maybe your familiar with photoshop or gimp, there is no limit to the coolness of website design when u go adding awesome backgrounds and designs with those softwares. and as for a personal site, i wish more spudders would make them so they can put all there projects up for all to see in one place, nothing at all wrong with it.

wow.. i was just thinking about trying to make a website. but i dunno anything about it..

so if your interested i could use the help.. its a site for my rubber band ball. which currently weighs in at 35 lbs.. my basic idea of what the site would be is something that would list my po box so people could send me rubber bands. and then i would add there name and how many they contributed to the main page...or sub page...

I vote you make BTB, or Mr.C, or JSR a personal website, dedicated to all of their insane creations. Whether they like it or not, you should force the website on them.

This is probably a really bad idea, But I got it during a crazy time.

Make a webpage dedicated to giving information/photos of police/Gov't agents (Especially the undercover ones).

It would ruin their undercover work, save some peoples freedom and would be in retaliation to the fact that peoples names and home addresses are given out in newspapers when they get arrested,( before they're even convicted too)

What do you think? 8)

@Lentamentalisk Like I said It's probably a really bad idea.

For one thing that's why camera devices aren't allowed into courts.
Because court is open to public and anyone can sit in there and the undercover agents have to testify. So once they introduce themself as so and so they could never be as effective again (if cameras were allowed).

For another reason it's a bad idea, not many people would want to get that close to them (but they do have neighbor's, church, community ties etc.

The #1 reason it's a bad idea is that it would be asking for trouble to be involved in something like that.(but for some it may add thrill/suspense).

But all in all it would just be bad to do I suppose.

I like the idea to have a page for all of the really cool creative works done by people... not just a piston cannon, or a combustion or a simple sprinkler valve cannon but all the innovative stuff...

Overall a Collection of Creative and Innovative work

Here is a list of a few projects that could be shown:

Remote Activated Land Mine
Clip Fed BBMGs such as the RC-P240
Mini Pen gun (JSRs)
etc..

You could have a gallery, how-to section on how to build them, Videos of them firing, etc...

Also a cool page would be to list ideas that people have for random projects, such as stuff for airsoft, net launcher, clog cleaners etc..

Also on a side note.. I'm a graphic/website designer so if you would like any help with graphics or flash animation or even action script just let me know.

On a lighter note, Here's an idea I got when I saw a stupid stamp on a dollar bill saying to post where the bill was called ww.where's george or something stupid. :
Make a really large spud cannon and stamp something similar on the potato like ww.where's the spud.com .

BTW, The crazy time I was refering to was a really bogus hit and run I got stuck with a while back and I still don't drive yet.
I should probably delete that idea though.

I think he means a website for extra-ordinary spudguns of the internet. It could be run by Spudfiles, but it would just sum up some of the best spudguns created.

It would save people having to search through Spudfiles and could even draw more traffic and members.

Spuddin, I have used GIMP for simple picture manipulating, but nothing complex. Before I make a site I will make a real quick mock-up of the site using MSPaint to visualize the basic layout of everything.

Trae08, a website must consist of three things: domain, hosting, and content. The two things that cost money - a domain name and hosting - I will not be providing. Those two things can be had for a easy $40 a year, however theoretically my time would far exceed that amount. Hence the offer.

While not everything I do needs to have a life saving purpose, I think the idea of a site dedicated to a rubber band ball quite ridiculous. Don't get me wrong though, something like that has the potential to be a viral hit, so if you got things conceptualized to where that can happen, please explain to me and I will help.

ThunderLord, I am very political, but I can't really see the purpose of such a site like that. I have no political background, so why would someone spend there time reading my spin on things? Sure maybe a few people would out of shear boredom, but again I have nothing new to bring to the table.

Davidvaini, SpudFiles has already brang most of the worlds cannon's under one roof, and I don't see reason enough to start a site just dedicated to a few of your favorite picks.

I do however have a few questions I want to ask you, but Ill do that through the PM system. (So check your inbox!)

Mr. C, I think one of the worst things about SpudFiles is its lack of control, and clutter. Great content is posted daily but it is covered up and belittled by the worthless posts.

How about a website about psychological thoughts? Example: Some people think their words/phrases are better/more intelligent/smarter then others. Explore the arrogance of some people. Just a thought off the top of my head.

Edit: Before anybody gets the wrong idea, I do mean explore the human mind.

Domaij names can be purchased rather cheaply for a year or two.

I use spud gun loosely, basically anything related to this site's contents.

With like 360's of them, and other cool stuff.



But this all rests on the fact that you want to do something todo with spudguns.
If you dont

"Find something you are good at, and do it to the best of your ability"
Then make a website about it.
