Miniature guns are novelty custom, unique, and sometime downright crude! Common construction materials often include pill bottles or pens. Show us your work!

Built this using an old blowgun.
Chamber = 3/4" PVC
Barrel = 1/2" PVC
Pressure tested to 150 psi. I could use some ammo ideas.

haha thats a nice little toy. Looks pretty good actually, probably packs a decent punch too. AA batteries work good for 1/2" with a bit of tape, you could use wax slugs or steel bearings, or whatever the hell you can think of. Remember you can shoot just about anything with a rag behind it.
Peace,
Edit: Hah almost forgot about .50 cal paint balls, those work pretty good.

Man, your barrel is way to big for the opening of a blowgun, even modded, it cant be more than 1/8 of an inch.

Nice. If i were you id have the chamber angled in the opposite direction and flip over the blow gun. that way it would somewhat resemble a musket.

Blowgun isn't going to give you any power when you're comparing the bore and length to the amount of power the tiny blowgun is releasing.
Sprinkler valve next time maybe?

I know the larger bore will hinder performance. I'll experiment with smaller barrels, too.
Instead of taking it al the way down to 1/8" I bet I can get a pipe to fit OVER the end and get satisfactory performance from 1/4"
Jeff
EDIT: The 1/2" barrel at 150psi shot a heavy screw and some wadding about 90ft. You have to press the blowgun trigger quick to get decent speed. I believe a lighter projectile like a dart will fly much further. I'll try the 1/4" barrel today and see how it performs.

Nice lil plinker you got there. I suggest using metal pipe as chamber and barrel instead of pvc. Then you can use it on like 300 psi.

Use it for "UBR" darts.
ive always wanted to have a dartboard game where instead of the darts being thrown, they are shot out of pneumatic pistols........
and im talking shooting REAL throwing darts.

I would have the change my blowgun (rated 90 psi)
I think I saw larger blowguns at the auto store.

Most blowguns can bu used over their rating.
The worst that happens is that they probably start to leak at high pressures so its not that bad.

Yes that rating is just there so you cant sue them if some thing goes wrong with the blowgun. Blowguns can go very high I think I even recall someone using theirs up to 500 psi, dont quote me on that though. Yes and the worst thing to happen would be leaking, it mould probably take a few thousand psi to actually cause some one harm.

Mr.C: That's not as easy as you think. It's like me kicking you in the balls and telling you to stop crying.

My rechargeable air pump can only go up to 200 psi before hitting "the red zone"
Other than that, thats the most powerful air pump I have. I'll give 200psi a try...maybe 225.

I'm using sched40 PVC/fittings that are rated double what I'm capable of pressurizing it to.

Alright! Then nothing is holding you back for that higher pressure
