Yes, there is an adapter you can buy that will allow you do that...Mr Heater makes it...don't know the model number off hand. Fill it from full BBQ propane tanks.marpat wrote:ok so i have like 3 empty disposable propane bottles in my garage

But at a low low price of $2.50 US for a new, full bottle, I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

he is talking about using it as a tank for his cannon, not refilling it with propane, but that fitting would work if you were going to use it as a refill tank, rather than the main tank. It has too bad of flow as it is to be the main chamber though.

Honestly, it's probably making your own chamber, or a Sodastream bottle.

You can take an old propane torch attachment and drill out the center of both.
i'm assuming 14.4 oz or 16oz bottles.
I did this a long time back for use in a vacuum oil distiller, i used a 3/8th inch drill bit.
while i have never attempted to use it as a pressure vessel, the 20-18 gauge sheet metal should burst around 500-1000 psi, I would expect the compromised flat bottom design to expand a little first.

The bottom is actually round, as you'll see if you cut one open.
Other than that, I believe you can just unscrew the valve from the top with a schrader wrench or a thin pair of tweezers. Drilling it may be a better option since you won't get much flow with the current hole.

so is there a way i could like link them together without welding
because the stick welder im soon to get uses to thick of rod at way high amps to work with the thin meta
or i could make blast shield and turn the propane bottle into a bitchin burst disk

I have an empty propane tank (actually it started leaking out the valve, seeing as it is about 40 years old) and i am going to turn it into an air chamber as well.
i will tell you how i manage to put threads into it when i do.

Yeah sorry I read it wrong. I wouldn't fool with it as an air chamber then.Lentamentalisk wrote:he is talking about using it as a tank for his cannon, not refilling it with propane, but that fitting would work if you were going to use it as a refill tank, rather than the main tank.
