Instead of using 3 nozzles we might just use an actual sprinkler head.....lol. That might work pretty well. We will just have to flush these a couple of times with water after every use and clean them, but it should be fine.

why not just have a balloon filled with paint, then you introduce pressure from the sprinkler valve, the balloon pops and sprays paint everywhere, you could even add a curved backboard to keep with the realism of having it only do damage in 160 degrees

I had a think and drew some diagrams to make it a little clearer. Neither of these designs allow paint to go through the sprinkler, and both should be very efficient.

One moment I think I may have you prob lem fixed give me a little while to make a diagram. I ll go a head and write the parts down. Sprinkler valve to union with one lyer of foil or saran wrap then on tho of the union some sort of sabot like thing probably cardboard then your whole nozzle setup.

Any ideas for a remote detonation device? I'm thinking of wiring a battery box to to the solenoid and then setting it of with a remote similar to a device used on remote entry door locks for your car. You could program the buttons for claymore 1 and claymore 2. I can't remember were I saw this remote system on the internet, but it would be perfect.

Ooops, I was in a hurry when I replied last and when I read over my last reply, 160 degree seemed funny. :(

Just checked in an old book I've still got and here it is:
60 degree "kill radius" with some "stray fragments and secondary missiles" going 180 degrees.
Either way that's still about same as baseball diamond or field within foul lines.

Also, they're best deployed within 20-30 meters, aimed for 50 meters, and dangerous to 250 meters.

Your paint should easily do close to 20 meters or so.
But should cover 60 degrees to be more authentic.

I always say, if you plan to fire it wirelessly, watch out for stray signals.

Grumpy

That's exactly what I want to make. How do they perform? Where did you get the remote device? In your design does the paint go back to the sprikler valve?

As long as you clean out the diaphragm, I don't think that's an issue.

By the way, your hand drawings are awesome.

sorry it took so long to post this but i had to go to hospital emergency room and just got out this mourning, the design is not mine but the plans are free for anybody to use. both mines work very well and i've never had problems with them, and no i have not had any trouble with paint getting into the valve. just wash it out at end of game. you can find the plans and all instructions here. http://www.geocities.com/pomanspaintbal ... tions.html
