Quick Connect Question

This might be a stupid question, but when you put air into these, does the air come back out, or is it kinda like a schrader valve and once air goes in, air doesn't come back out?

Yeah, pretty much like a schrader but quicker to work with.

There's no valve in them so air just comes back out. You'll need a ball valve to stop it.

The Quick Disconnect, which is the female fitting that attaches to Quick Connects have a valve in them so air only comes out when it is hooked up to a Quick Connect, so you can take it off and no air will come out.

what you are looking for is a female quickconnect fitting.. it's what you plug this http://www.everyaircompressor.com/Campb ... P1254.html into. When it's disconected it stops air form getting out

The big gold fitting acts like a schrader.

I always use 'Quick Connect' to describe the male fitting with the hose barb type adapter, they come in gold or silver btw.

I use 'Quick Disconnect' to describe the female fitting that connects to a 'Quick Connect'. They also come in gold or silver.

When I say 'male' or 'female' fitting, I don't mean the threads, but what it looks like on the opposite end.

Yep, I understand about the male and female. And a little off topic, but where can I find schraders? I only find tire valves which are schraders, just rubber. They stick out of my gun to much, and since they're rubber, they bend. So yea, where can I find schraders?

the male qc will not hold air in a chamber a female qc is the one with the valve in it.

as for the second.....I would not recommend that stuff....it comes apart a little harder than it goes together. a comstant psi of 100-120 might be ok for a while but any more and it could stretch the fittings and blow apart.

I find schraders in the brass fittings area at my local "Ace Hardware". You may also find them in the plumbing tools area, they use them when they pressure test a pipe.

I'm only bringing it to maybe 80-100 PSI, so I'm guessing it would be okay.
