could a large sprinkler valve be filled via pilot?

sorry if this is noobish but i have no reason to believe why it could not.

the reason is i want to pilot my 2" valve with my 3/8" QEV and the qev needs air from pilot to seal or i can try putting a spring in my qev...

The answer is yes. There is an equalization point on the diaphragm that allows air to pass through, however it typically has a small plastic filter in it. You might consider taking that guy out, all depends on how fast your compressor is delivering air.
