I think now that Bush military policies are soon to change, I'd consider this a great time to join any branch of the military. But there is one thing I think any one joining the military should confront. And it can be summed up in this question, better yet imagine if your friend asked you this question: "Why are you joining the military?"

If your answer generally entails your in it for the money, education, or benefits may I advise you not to join. A lot of trouble in our current occupations results from some weak willed soldiers. If your doing it for materialistic reason I would consider that slightly mercenaristic. That in the end is going to be bad for the solider and the occupied state.

For me at least I'm not to passionate about joining the military quite yet. My cousin that served two tours with the Marines in Iraq & Afghanistan didn't have the best of times. He said just sometimes a innocent person would get caught in some unfortunate circumstances and end up getting killed or arrested. Considering a gun shot isn't reversible you end up catching those unfortunate incidents.

Just something to consider...

oh well if you really want to join do it, just make sure you won't end up like scotcrette
