It will work. There needs to be a spring behind the piston, and you may have to fill it a little bit slower so that the air going into the pilot doesn't open the valve.

Diaphragm valves and piston valves are very similar, and they work using the same principles, and last time I checked sprinkler valves can be filled from the chamber side without any problems.

Ok, I went back and reread it and have come to this conclusion... It canwork, but it would be more difficult do to the spring. I also don't see it as fast as the other non-springed pistons. :error:

EDIT- And I wasn't trying to "shut them down". I was saying that I didn't think that it would work. If I were to shut them down- It would have been like :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

Isn't that how Chaos' S400 was filled?(from the chamber side) 'cos his gun seemed to work just fine.

Okay discussion of whether it will work or not ends here because it does work and has been done before. So saying 'it wont work', isn't true, because it does and it has.

The right spring will be hard to find I probably wouldn't bother but if you have to fill from chamber side for some reason, then go for it.

You probably could make your own spring if you had to.

Thank you guys. I was pretty sure that there was a way to make it work with a piston since a sprinkler valve works this way, my question was (mainly) if there was a need for an equalization hole, but i guess not.
