Changing Compressor Oil

I own a Craftsman 1HP 4 gallon compressor like the one in this link http://atlanta.craigslist.org/tls/780143542.html (weird link I know but it works) which I got for Christmas '07. Having owned it for 7 months an used it almost on a daily basis, I figured it was finally time to change the oil.

Thats when it got a bit weird.

Everyone I've asked said to use some oil change valve on the bottom of the thing. The question is - where the hell is it? I know this is a stupid question but I just cant seem to find the damn thing.

If anyone knows more about this than I do, for the love of God how do I change the oil? I have the oil, I have the compressor, I have a bucket, I just need to know how to do it.[/url]

Get me a pic of the compressor pump up close, the one your link shows is not close enough to get a good look. From what I can see it's oil-less. My 1st Craftsman was 3 1/2 HP 20 gallon tank. It was oil-less. There is a drain valve to let the moister out of the tanks.

When I got it I had to oil it up, so it definitely isnt oilless. Im working on the pix, so give me a minute, but the sight glass is really dirty. I know about the tank drain valve, but that has nothing to do with the oil.

If it has a reservoir there should be a 4 sided or hex head bolt in the base of the pump.

Looks like you can just use the site window as the drain.

It turns out the side window finally worked! Thanks a bunch, now I dont have any more nightmares of spontaneous compressor failure whilst bragging about my newest creations to my entire group of friends. 8)
