wear do you get ball bearings

ball bearings seam like good ammo and I was just wondering ware you get them?

you can go to wal-mart or bass pro and get slingshot ammo, it's bassically the same thing, & you can get dif. sizes

I found ball bearings at my local Ace, but they weren't very cheap... I think a non-spherical ammo would have better performance.

I doubt it makes sense to order off a Dutch website for you, but there is bound to be a similar site in the US.

Google for muzzle loader lead balls.
They come in different sizes, are CHEAPER ( !!) and harder hitting.

McMaster for sure. They have everything from 0.05"D to 4.5"D

Chrome steel balls are much cheaper than stainless steel;
Alloy (chrome) Steel Ball, 7/16"D, Grade 25, #9528k22, 100 for $11.83

I've found similar site.... cosider using them - they are very likely to be cheaper than ballbearings and naturally they are heavier

Probably not really any cheaper, lead is pretty expensive and lead shot will only go up to what ~1/4"? Besides, lead is not very environmentally friendly.

The problem with McMaster's ball bearings is, after you get over 1", you have to buy the high precision aircraft grade ones, and pay several times as much. Which means if you want a decent cannon ball, there are better places to shop (although, even at 20 bucks a pop, it certainly would be nice to have a few of those 2" diameter hardened steel bearings).

It really depends on what you are buying.

Ebay store: 10 1/2" 440c SS bearings- $8.00
McMaster: 10 of the same for $12.18 (part #9642K57)

There are some deals there, and some are better than others.

you can buy almost any size you want to if you spend time looking for them... lead isn't enviromentally friendly.... it just happends that it's being used to make firearm bullets
