for my second cannon(gotta get around to posting my first) I can't figure out which type of valve to use. It's going to have a two inch barrel and a 2.5 in barrel, so it has to be powerful enough for both of them. And I have done my reserch and people have used sprinkler and piston valves. And if I do have to use a piston I want to keep it kinds small like 2" with 1.5" porting. Just thought I'd see what you guys siad

Piston valves are usually a whole lot cheaper than sprinkler valves and relatively easy to make. That should sway you somewhat.

A lot of first-time piston valves are 2" housing with 1+1/2" porting. That was the first size I made.

I say, if you do make a piston valve, make your first one with more function than form in mind. You can make a perfectly flush valve the same exact size as a 2" tee, but you can also make a larger valve that takes a much shorter amount of time to make and doesn't sacrifice a significant amount of power.
