ok
this is a draw i made to air pump
i see a plan that gippeto think about for 2 stage pump
so i canceld the first stage because the difficulty to biuld
the way i calculated parameters you can get 200 bar of pressure with force of 769.69 Newton ===78.46 kgf
the piston is 7mm in diameter
at least you dont have to pull the piston up less energy :D :D :D :D :D

here it is one stage pump high pressure

7mm is small but if my calculations are right you would need to weigh 452 pounds 205.61 kilograms to get 200 bars.
BTW can you stop using that big red or blue font with the smileys, green would be a better colour :D :D :D :D :D :D

You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

well I am not gippeto but I can say a few things...

first of all, it won't help you at all if you hook the pump with an air compressor... of course it would be easier to pump if that 100 psi was acting on both sides of the piston...

secondly, you don't need to use an air compressor at all... just buld a pump with small diameter of the piston and it will be able to produce high pressures
Children are the future

unless we stop them now

sorry to tell you youre calculations is worng

first of all thw piston have O ring thate dont let air flow to the other side of the piston
secondly if you dont hook air compressor like in the plan , to get high pressure you need alot of time , cuz of this the air compressor exist to cancel the first stage that 3 stage pump does
i mean biuld the first pressure , so you can pressure it more
i mean without compressor , evrey stork compressed lets say 92.36 cm3 of air if the long of the cylinder is 60 cm
with the air compressor you allready have in the cylinder comressed air ,aprox 8 atm =92x8=736 ,736 cm3 of air and you well get the juice out from it :twisted: :twisted:
do you understand now

I wasn't taught to do my calculations I was just going by logic btw I know the pie X radius2 for area of circles.

Duuuuur I didn't know that. I did 7 / 2 = 3.5
Diameter / 2

so what the problem
p=200 bar===>200*100000=20000000 pa
d=7mm====> d=0.007 m

A=(PIE* (0.007*0.007)) /4 A=0.000003848451001 m2
F=P*A =====>20000000*0.00003848451001
F= 796.702002=====>/9.81======>78.46 KG :D

It looks like it would work, you just have to be careful about putting the air from the compressor in too fast, the pump handle might hurt if it came up too fast :lol:

Using the compressor will save you a lot of energy, but it will still take a while to reach 200 bar.

Should work. :)

It will take some pressure to "crack" the inlet check valve. This will lower your actual cylinder fill pressure unless you account for it.

If the cracking pressure is 10psi, you would run your air supply at 110psi to compensate and still get 100psi in the cylinder.

There would be about 6 pounds (2.7kg) of force pushing the handle up at 100psi (not accounting for frictional loses).

It is a simple design, which is always good.

Just remember to NEVER let go of the pump handle. With 2.7kg force to accelerate it, it WILL hit hard. :wink:

What are you planning to use for materials?

you absolutely right :) :)

if my calculations is right this pump can pump the same volume of air thate a pump with 2 cm piston in diameter.
and even the air force pump with 3 stages took about 5 min to fill 1 liter tank. but here you dont have to spent 250 $$

well gippeto this is a plan (and differently work)
but for the momnt i have no attention to biuld , because i cannot handle 400 psi (for the moment)
and gippeto do you want to biuld this pump??. i know you can get hpa for 10 $ ......you know for the fun

and befor she hit me i well het her

This is the nature of ideas. :)

Good ideas will get used. Someone here will build this, sooner or later.
