Hey all, i have made many cannons before as some know, but this is a first attempt at a retrievable harpoon type gun.

Pretty basic but i think it looks pretty Nice.

Chamber: Old fire extinguisher (not sure of volume ATM)
Barrel: 1/2 SCH 120 about 1.5' long
Valve: Modified 1" Sprinkler Valve
Older finshing reel
Harpoon: made from a fiberglass rid that fits perfectly in the SCH120 barrel.

So here it is!

Nice cannon! I like how the tank is incorporated into a kind of stock. That thing could take some serious pressure if you upgrade to a QEV! Btw, your sig says your isp is Oregon State. I'm there too! We need to do some spudding together :D

It says that *your* IP is Oregon State :p

Nice cannon, does it actually work, in harpoon terms?

its a little back heavy due to the metal ring that covers the last 2.5" or so. i think i will hacksaw it off so only a little of the metal is there to see if longer range flight is better.

Short range ( 10 feet) is pretty good but i haven't shot it over 35 psi.

More tests to come!

Yes the sig is a funny lil thing i found and liked it so i used it.

Cool gun but about your sig: does it say your ip is 142.68.161.7 for everybody who sees it? Check.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

No, That is YOUR IP Sticky. The whole purpose of the sig is to freak people out. The only IP you will see on one of those sigs are your own. Now everybody knows YOUR IP because I had to quote your post. If you would have read the above posts, you would of knew that. Basically what it is a 1 way mirror, where It will show you your own IP, And all that info, but nobody else will see it, freaky huh?

Thats a very cool gun. I was thinking of doing something like that with my gun.
You could try using real arrows..You might have to mod them a little. I think they would work good.

Yes the sig is just as blind909 says it is.

the harpoon does not fly as well as i want it to so i am looking into a better design at the moment

Very cool and solid looking gun. I'm sure with a little work you will get your harpoon performing better. I'm thinking a somewhat longer barrel will help you too.

Just don't take it fishing with you. Game wardens aren't known for their sense of humor with these things....right Biggsauce!!!?

Oh so right you are Starman. I forgot to mention that. Don't even think of fish while you're holding that thing. They will probably write you a ticket for that too...

My court date is October first, and its looking like a $635.15 fine. Is the .15 really necessary?

Be smart with it

It initially was $1135.15 for "taking fish illegally"

I was then re-issued a ticket (becuase I didnt actually have any fish in the boat) for "attempting to take fish illegally"
wich is a bit cheaper.
