Is spudgunning a money sucker?

I always need more and more money to make spudguns...

i spended 50 Us dollars just to gain knowldege in coaxial mecanism !

And i need more so i am going to sell my Warhammer fantastic army...

I dont know when it will stop!

Well you could spend thousands of dollars on a gym membership, golf lessons, and steroids to hit a golf ball really far...or you could spend under $50 and beat even the best golfer...it all depends on your perspective.

It all depends on your scavenging ability and what tools you have access to. I don't think I've ever spent more than $50 on a gun. The semi-finished hybrid3.0on my table has probably less than $20 in it.

Do you mean you bought plans? I wouldn't pay for any type of plans personally. Almost anyone here could show you how a coax works.

Depends on the level of spudgunning you're doing. My kind of spudding is quite the money sucker, as are all my other hobbies...

If it's done recreationally though, just for the fun aspect, it really doesn't have to be expensive at all.

yep it's all about your ability and skill in scavenging parts and improvising.... sometimes you can save a lot of $ if you spend some time to look for cheaper shops... sure it might be money consuming just like any other hobby...

One of the less expensive hobbies if you ask me. At least the fuel is cheap, a "B" sized rocket engine runs like $2 around here....

500 canadian dollars? You think that's costly? I spent more than that on HEAL or my air rifle - each!

That gives you an idea of what a project can cost, although those two are the only real two expenditures I've made in the area for about a year and a half.

Yeah, I lost track of how much money I spent. I try not to think about it because if I did I would kick my self. I tinker with my gun on and off all the time. I think I have been working on my gun for 8 years now.. If I didn't have a project or something to think about or work on ,I would go into a depresion. Its all about fun and making your self happy. :toothy7:

Only as expensive as you make it, you can save a lot of money by begging/borrowing/stealing (the latter is not recommended as a matter of conscience but there's no denying the option exists) parts or making your own.
