That's great. MB is one of my favorite series on all of TV. It's cool they have had a "close call" with Spudfiles.

What was the situation in which you came to be in the same venue with them? Was that a "gift" to them?

You know what they should do next!

Show Larda's 3062FPS Hybrid... I reckon they'd love the bloody thing after it being measured on the chrony XD.
It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

Mythbusters is awesome, definitely one of my favourite programs too (Heroes wins though :D )

maybe mythbusters should break some spudding myths like supersonic pnuematics and (normal) combustions? (we all know what hybrids can do)

any other spudding myths?

Not with their shoddy cannon skills. They'd need some kind of external expert.

Supersonic pneumatics are perfectly achievable in theory. Obviously you can use a lighter gas, or if you consider that cheating, there is always shock heating.
Not to mention that the Airforce Condor manages it with air and the sheer brute force of 3000 psi (presumably via shock heating). So it's obviously possible to have a supersonic pneumatic.

Supersonic combustion? Obviously possible. The SOS in the combusted mixture makes it achievable - however, the limited energy available would make it hard to actually propel much mass that fast.
And of course, if you want to believe it, BigBang's Crusader did the job with Mach 1.5. It's possible it was chrony error, but the numbers seemed too consistent for that to me.

(For another thing, the range figures match up nicely with the velocity figures whenever I've put them through range calculators)

However, the likelihood of breaking the sound barrier like some twits claim "buy srpayin a hole can of hiarspray in 2 the chambre" is about 0%, because that's the likelihood it will fire in the first place.
Heroes wins though
Man, I just got fed up with Heroes during season 2. Peter acting like he has the common sense of an eight year old (Seriously, if everyone you meet is telling you the guy you're with is bad news, surely you'd listen sooner - perhaps even use your mind reading power to check?), people's powers getting multiplied by whatever number the producers felt like, the Mexicans...

I'm not bothering with season 3.

Cool, but what are they going to do with it?
Will it be in some episode?

I would say NO to mention SF in such an episode as it will bring thousands of plan-hungry cannon noobs to the site even if there are proper new-members between it.

@ALIHISGREAT & Ragnarok
A myth about spudding?
Hahah, you want to put them up to make an awesome gun are you? :P
Till the day I'm dieing, I'll keep them spuddies flying, 'cause I can!

I have a myth that they could try to bust: Myth Busters incapable of making a good spudgun with out the help of "experts"...
Do not look back, and grieve over the past, for it is gone;
Do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come;
Live life in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

Yes, I am the one on the left. I had a friend who worked a favor for me and yes, it was a "gift" that they liked so much they brought it out on stage and the entire theater went nuts. They had lots of questions and asked some really good questions. One of Jamie's first questions was wondering why I didn't just use the 3000psi straight out of the launcher.

I didn't realize the supersonic potato was a myth. I was curious about the myth regarding the broken nerf spines being lethal. It would be good to have a short list of some myths that a launcher might help solve or demonstrate. It would be great if they would do some hi-speed camera work with it and especially down the polycarbonate bore site. I have fired the launcher at 520psi with the trigger regulated down to 300. I told them that I would replace any parts that are tested to destruction. It is designed to take 1200psi, but the trigger valve needs to be swapped out. They liked the idea that it is a pneumatics toolkit in a lot of ways with the modular parts.

I haven't been around here much since I am being distracted by military applications that are presenting themselves. Updates soon. New videos and such is in the works.
