My first cannon :P

My first cannon, yay!. I have only got 1 test fire so far... it was dark and i could only test one shot before i got cold. The potato i had in the barrel wouldn't move so when it fired the front end decided to shoot off... christ its powerful it shot the end accross the street.... i cant wait until i put some BB's in this thing. ^^. I need to make a grip of some sort and get better fuel than anti-perspirant. I have the gas chamber of the lighter in my box, could i just use the gas form that??

Apparently not much. I've personally never really been much of a spitball cannon guy....fun at first but kind of underwhelming when it's all said and done. I would suggest moving up to something larger and a little more challenging.

Yup, build bigger and with "proper" materials.

I know there's some short term appeal to spitball cannons, but eventually, you'll want something with some grunt behind it.

So you did have all the parts? Eccept the lighter. They are great fun when they bang and kick a little! Now move up to a larger combustion. Nice....

^^ Yeh i had all the parts except the lighter... so cost = 99P. Dad said straight off he didn't want me doing a bigger combustion... so i will do a pnematic.... when i have the time i will work out a design. ^^ PVC pressure rated pipe is what i should look for isnt it??

Yes make sure it has the markings NSF-PW or NSF-61, meaning its rated for pressure applications.

Unlikely, you're not at any great risk of finding them in a modded form on ebay - you'll have to do the modding yourself.
However, if ebay fails for a basic sprinker valve, there are other online stores in the UK where you can buy them in that form.

Alternatively, a popular alternative is the Quick Exhaust Valve.

Yea i was considering he was from somewhere besides the U.S. but it was late when i wrote that, so i didnt feel like writing it, but the point still remains.

I think a QEV would be better for your applications, as Rag mentioned.
