Possibly, but why bother. Quality fuels are well known and utterly inexpensive.

i agree. but for the sake of this topic i'll just say that i prefer a propane/oxygen mix.

First, look at the ingredients and look for propane, isopropyl alchohol, and iso-butane. If it has these it's good.

If not, I would suggest going to publix (or other similar store) and looking for the store-brand, generic deo spray that usually is named something like "sport defense". It is usually very cheap, and almost always contains the above "goodies." While your looking, usually (at least on the publix brand) it says "compare to right guard sport" or something.

tip- don't get right guard, it used to be good, but they changed it.

Well, the isobutane/propane propellant sounds mighty flammable, but what happens if you get Athlete's Foot?

Then why do you say that you prever an oxy/propane mix?
On top of that, it is not very wise to use oxygen enriched mixtures in a simple pvc combustion.
And when making a gun out of metal for oxygen enriched shots, you may aswell convert it into an hybrid.

@topic
Basically any spray can that shows an icon of "highly flammable" will work, and if it shows flammable stuff in the ingredients, it will also do the job. However, the point with stuff out of spray cans is, that besides the flammable gases, other crap comes with it. Hairspray for example gums up your whole chamber over time, covering your electrodes and sticky-ing on your threads.

Nothing out of a can will be more powerfull then pure propane, butane or MAPP, but for a spray n pray, simply use simething that does not make a mess and seems to work fine.
I liked to use butane lighter refill cans as fuel for my comby, which is basically pure butane without any sticky crap.

There is really no significant difference between propane, butane, iso-butane, methanol, ethanol, gasoline etc. The power they will generate is basically the same.

In a spray-n-pray it will be impossible to say one fuel is more powerful than another. One fuel source may be easier to use in a spray-n-pray and may leave less non-flammable junk in the chamber. Those are practical considerations, not considerations of the energy content of the fuel.

If it contains flammable volitiles it'll work. If may gum up the fan and spark gap over time. The strength will be 100% dependent on how accurately and reporducably you can fuel the cannon and 0% dependent on what the actual flammable chemical is in the spray can.

It baffles me though why anyone would ever use a spray can of something as a fuel. I get the "gee look what I can do with this can of hair spray" aspect, but that only applies for a shot or two. Then I would think a person would move on to a cheaper, cleaner and more reliable fueling system.

A $0.99 disposable butane lighter is really hard to beat as the cheapest and cleanest fuel source for a combustion gun.
