Soap Piston

I wonder if soap would make a good piston. You would never have to lubricate it that's for sure. It's also easy to shape.

it would also be easy for the cannon to shape when it slammed into the back of the gun. the pressure would probably just push the barrell through the soap and put a hole in the piston. if it didnt and you had a really good cushion though it might work. find some verrrrry hard soap.

Yes, the soap would be good for one shot but it would definatly get destroyed, what soap do you have in mind?

Bolt very thick rubber on the front and the back. You also might want to use a sponge on the back to absorb some of the energy.

I was plannoing on putting some kind of disk on both ends, at least the size of the barrel.

I wouldn't think soap would hold up to the abuse. I read that someone used wax and it only made it a few shots. Even if you put something on the ends I still think the soap would just crumble.
