Is a tire gauge the same as a pressure gauge?

of course, and sometimes they come with 1/8\" npt threading

Normally a tire gauge is more for measuring pressure from a Schrader valve such as on a car tire, hints the name. A pressure gauge is thought of as a dial gauge with a NPT fitting. But both will work in most cases.

Not to say there aren't many different definitions for gauges, but just an example.

i used a tire guage on my first gun for awhile! before i joined spudfiles.
