Do you have to be a part of a company to order from them??

(if so, would my dad's private investor buisiness count?)

No, and if you're not part of a company I would not suggest putting anything in the company name. If you return items and receive a check for whatever fake company name you filled in, cashing that check can be difficult.

McMaster will sell to anyone, you don't need a company name. If you can pay for it they'll sell it to you.
