Hello

I am new here to SpudFiles, and I am beginning construction of a simple cloud bbmg as a first project. I am clear on the principles the gun operates on, however I do not know what type of air supply is generally used. Do most BBMG's use Co2 in tanks like scuba tanks, or do they use air compressors like the ones you can buy at the Home Depot. If you do use air compressors, could you please tell me what the average PSI is for these compressors, and whether CFPM matters. I am honestly sorry if this has been posted before, and I am even more sorry if I have been completely ignorant and not read in between the lines. I have done a search on this site, however it has not yielded any satisfactory results.

Thank you very much

1) It's probably 50/50. The more serious members will use CO2, while those who are more short on cash and aren't looking to use the BBMG in an airsoft match will just use a compressor.

2) Average PSI an air compressor can generate is probably around 115-150psi. In New Zealand, most are 115psi. Though in America I understand that it is possible to find ones that go up to 150psi for a similar price.

3) CFPM doesn't matter too much. Usually one would just fill up the compressor tank and use the air in that. If your compressor has a high CFPM it may be possible to shoot while the compressor fills up the tank pausing for a few seconds to let it catch up.

I'm sure MC answered all your questions, but make sure you checkout the Wiki section on BBMG: http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/inde ... achine_Gun

Also check out examples of BBMG's at: http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/inde ... 6_articles

That should pretty much be your bible when building. 8)

You can get a 200psi compressor for not much more than a quality 150psi.

Very true, I have a air supply store near my house that I picked up a DeWalt 200 PSI 15 Gallon Compressor up for only 250$ What a STEAL!

:D I got my fridge for free on the side of the road, I basically jumped out the car and worked out the best way to fit it into a small Renault, best day of my life, except for when an online pneumatics shop sent me the wrong QEV I got a 1" for the price of a 1/4" one
