@sputnick... think before writing something... that's just plain dumb...
I hope you realize what can happen when it explodes prematurely ?

I still don't see why anyone would even consider using a soda bottle as a chamber. You need a pipe for a barrel and a valve with pipe threads... you're already halfway there.
I suppose if you needed a low volume clear chamber for whatever reason, you could use a preform. It's a soda bottle before it's heated and inflated to its typical 2-liter shape. You can imagine how thick the walls are.

Those preforms are just unexpanded water bottle blanks, If you have ever watched how it's made, they heat those and then put them in a mold and blow them up to fit. Since they coast about 5 cents to produce, their profit margin is huge...
although truth be told, I have always wanted to know where to get those.

CountyComm has them (as well as shitloads of other awesome stuff) or you can get them here.

Molecular weight of CO2 is 44. One mole of gas occupies 22.4 liters at STP.POLAND_SPUD wrote:@ MrCrowley very interesting vid.... any idea how many liters of Co2 can you get from 1 kg of dry ice ?
(1000g)/(44g/mol)*(22.4L/mol) = 509 Liters
STP = 20C (68F) and 1 ATM pressure.

hmmm thx jimmy...
now it seems that dry ice could be used as a cheap source of CO2 for high pressure portable guns.... the only problem is how to use it safely...

If you live in the US, you can get it from Baskin Robins. That's where I get mine

No idea, bet jimmy101, SpudBlaster15, DYI, Rag or some other members who know their chemistry well could tell you though.any idea how many liters of Co2 can you get from 1 kg of dry ice

Yup, still at schoolyou are only 17

Yeah I have heard that before as well. Though I do recall a member taking their soda bottle past 125PSI, it'd be interesting to know how deformed it is at that pressure.the bursting pressure lies at about 10ba fo a PET bottle of 1.5L.
Edit: There's a second page

I agree with you. They're far too dangerous and you have to go out of your way to make the threads work anyway.I still don't see why anyone would even consider using a soda bottle as a chamber
