Me thinks those small hard front wheels are going to rattle your eye teeth out...especially off-road....

I'm with Frank...scale seems a little small for human cargo. Also, the wheels now steer.....with what do you steer it with...??

There looks to be a bolt through the front PVC pipe where the front wheels are mounted. Then you use your feet to push on the bar to steer the cart.

Brakes, you don't need brakes as long as you know what your doing. I've ridden a gas scooter at 20MPH for miles that did not have brakes (just not down steep hills).

Everything seems much faster a couple of inches off the ground :]

I'm still annoyed that the go-kart a group of us welded up in college got completely screwed up when a certain someone left the unpainted thing outside for about a month

You think that because you're young and still think you are invincible...don't worry, this condition will pass... I used to think that too.

He should put some kind of even primitive mechanical brakes on this thing. He's made some good improvements and should follow through the right way. Using feet or hands or nothing is just asking for injury.

I'm not invincible and I know that (22, bus driver and extreme paintballer). I converted that brake-less gas scooting into a bike powered trailer so I could have powered transportation and good braking power.



I would suggest getting some junk bikes and take use the brakes for your cart.

You should try to get ball bearings and a metal rod as axle.
I think alot of friction and wear will not help the thing move.
The large diameter of the pipe doesnt help also (larger radius for the forces to act out on).

The Drive wheel has its own assembly, it is then supported/connected to the PVC "Axle". The PVC axle is not really an axle, its just something to mount the wheels on.

Again, packrat is right. Today i made it into a 2 seater. It is 30 inches(2'6") wide, and can fit me and my friend perfect. I replaced the rear"axle" again today with 2 inch pvc so it will be safer. I will be going offroading again tomorrow with it after my audition for las vegas academy. I will take pics 2morrow. But it is good wide enough for me and my friend, and i fixed my battery too! I used some silicone adhesive and sealant glue from the dollar store and it worked!

If you insist on using pipe as an axle, why not use copper (or any other metal) pipe instead of PVC?

PVC is an inexpensive alternative that fits with the rest of the construction and is just fine if you use some that's thick enough.
