~To find leaks or cracks in pressurized pipe, take some laundry detergent, dilute it with some water, and pour it in the seams. Pressurize the pipe and any leaks will be shown with some bubbles.

How to prime and cement PVC pipe.

~To prime and cement PVC piping; First dry fit all your parts to make sure they all are compatible, then prime the pipes and fittings about 1/2 an inch up from the cut. Be generous but don't make puddles, because it takes a long time to dry, and since the primer softens the PVC for the cementing process, it will eat a way at the pipe. After that when it is semi-dry repeat the process with the cement. Insert each pipe into the fittings and wait 12 to 24 hours for the cement to dry, 24 is recommended.

for metal pipe, use oil to measure volume not water.

Is there any reason to use oil rather than water? The only thing I could imagine would be that the metal could oxidize. A few minutes of water won't harm any metal. Oil's inconvenient (imagine cleaning it up) and much more expensive.

A guide for simple large diameter hose clamps.

Start off with the largest clamps you have available, and simply "daisy chain" them together, attaching the worm screw on one clamp to the slotted end on another.
