When you receive a PM and the notification box pops up, the banner ads at the top of the page load over top of it, hiding the bottom half.
Browser type: FF 3.0.1
Anyone else ever had this happen or is it just me?
Minor ad bug

Your not the only one, it happens to me every time. The banner loads last is the problem/reason. Pictures files are larger and thats why it takes them longer. I just use the link to the right to get to my inbox.

Google says that they design their ads to do that, so you can not put page elements over the ads. It has never really been a problem before but I have noticed it happening more lately... I just need to move the PM popup box.

It is because ads do not only pay when they are clicked, they can be paid for when they are simply viewed. Not all ads are like this... example if a text ad came up at the top of SpudFiles, the PM box would probably cover it. But an image based ad that is relying on clicks and/or views to generate cashflow, that ad needs to stay on top.
What people would try to do is put these ads up on a page, then cover the ad with something else giving the look of having no ads. However when the page is loaded, it's counted as an ad view, but if no one can see it, your basically just stealing.
