cannon monkey wrote:ok the idea of wat psycix was saying using a pvc pipe chamber and all of that but i wanted to use a small propane tank form my mini grill for a few reasons
1 no leaks from the tank
2 i can have 1 or 2 of them
3 i can fill it up by small hand pump right on the spot
1- A well made PVC chamber doesnt leak. You could also fix leaks with epoxy.
2- If you can make one pvc chamber, you can also make two! Or one being twice as big (more weight efficient)
3- And that is the idea of the PVC chamber.

Last but not least, a propane tank is far heavier then a pvc chamber.

Some tips:
- Do not use DWV pipe and fittings. These got shallow sockets and that means there is not enough welding surface.
- Before solvent welding, clean the PVC with rubbing alcohol.
- Make sure to apply primer and then cement.
- Make sure to apply enough of it
-After applying cement shove the sockets completely into each other and THEN turn them 90 degrees. This is a important step that is commonly forgotten.
-Still got leaks? Epoxy seals it.

Its not a one-way. Think logical:
They have to be able to put the propane in, yet you should be able to get it out.
But it does have a valve which makes sure that it cant leak air to the outside when nothing is connected.
Usually there is a ball pressed against a rubber seal, when you thread something onto the tank, this presses the ball back and the propane is free to go.

It does have a horrible flow though. The tank isnt ment to be emptied in a few seconds.

If you mean on the little nub thing that goes into the propane cylinder, that is where the propane goes into the torch.

If you mean the tiny hole on the end of the pipe, closer to where the flame would be, that is for the aspirator. It increases the velocity of the propane to suck in air for that awesome 2-part blue flame we all know and love.
