Nah, prolly make them tee/piston valves, but I may get a wild hair and use 3/4" qevs, I want to make them 250+ psi capable so I'll prolly go piston valve for MOAR...jrrdw wrote:You going to use sprinkler valve set ups for them?
point of referance, sch120 3/4" is rated to 770psi working pressure, and if I use 1.5" sch40 for the chamber 250psi, should be ,ahem, safer...

Paintballs surprisingly can handle alot of pressure but make sure you luberecate the barrel.Ohh and I wouldn't recomend using these for actualy paintball.You could end up with serious injuries such as broken ribs.

Make sure you're very blunt about what they shoot at with them - a lot of people assume paintballs are harmless. They really, really aren't if they get up to speed.jeepkahn wrote:Gonna build the kids a coupla paintball rifles
@jrrdw: Certainly. I've used them beyond 300 psi with HEAL, in spite of my brother's insistence they'd turn inside out at those pressures and speeds.

Thanx for the input guys, I am going to be building in a safety feature to keep the kids from getting too crazy, I'm going to have a port on the chamber with a 80-100psi pop-off that I'll be able to remove and plug when I'm playing with it...

Is that PVC? If so, I wouldn't take it even close to 200PSI, let alone 250.and if I use 1.5" sch40 for the chamber 250psi,should be ,ahem, safer
Unless i've misunderstood you somewhere, then I apologize, but as a general rule, I wouldn't take any PVC over 175PSI unless it was 3/4" or 1".
1.5" pvc is rated to 330psi, and the chamber will prolly only be 6" long and after deducting 1" from either end where the fittings effectively double the thickness, there will only be 4" of exposed 1.5" sch40, so from a materiel strength/failure aspect, 250psi should be fine... when the boys are using them I'll have a pop-off installed to prevent overpressurization...
