as far as I can recall, its not even Teflon, it is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)

but lets try to stay on topic.

Teflon is a brand name, and teflon is PTFE. But indeed, that doesn't meant that PTFE is Teflon. Though both names are used for the same purpose.
