the colors of a cannon

right now i am making a very large piston cannon and was hopping for some advice on colors. i am game for things like fittings one color and pipe anouther and things like that

the canon is a twin 4inch by 5ft chamber and a 4inch piston with 3inch portng

here is the cannon

cannon is still unfinished
i need a stand a barrel support

Well if you want it simple just color it all black, that always looks good, or give it a cool paint job and amke it camo also works, depends on its use really. but camo is always good. Be creative.

It's really hard to paint a cannon with bright colors without it looking like a toy. I usually just go gloss black, 'cause it looks good on anything.

Black with yellow/red/green/blue trimming usually looks good though.

ok so a gloss black cannon and i will put its name on it with stencils in red. do you think that painting the valve a different color would look cool or not?

depends on the cannon but i would go for either one color or one pattern, ussually the valve is obvious eanoth.

How about purple then?
Just pick any color you like. You dont have to ask us for that.
Most people just go for black.

I just wanted to cover up the primer stains?

Try a two-tone scheme using a dark color for pipe and a lighter one on the fittings.

I always use a whiter shade of pale if I'm doing it.

I wouldnt consider any of the launchers on this site a toy, save for mabye a few of the mini's that shoot a cotton swab 30 feet across the room.

I'm going to have to disagree with you D_Hall - they may be for entertainment, but that does not make them toys.

Toys aren't normally allowed to be more dangerous than the potential of a bruise from dropping it on your foot or you tripping over it.
Spudguns generating as much (if not more) muzzle energy as handguns are far too dangerous to be a toy.

General rule, if you wouldn't trust an average pre-teen with it unsupervised, then odds on, it's probably not a toy.

Suffice to say, there is nothing in my collection I'd trust a unsupervised pre-teen with. Heck, the list of adults I know whom I would trust to use anything but the most basic of my collection unsupervised is pretty short. And even then, I'd be rather cautious about all but one person on that list - who happens to be the one person who knows as well as I do both how these things work and how to use them safely.
