Has anyone ever heard of a pulse valve?

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

so i was talking to someone who had a pretty serious air cannon rig and he was using a "pulse valve" which i guess has 2 diaphragms and supposivley opens absurdly fast, unfortunatly, googling them failed to turn up any helpful info. Anyone know about these/where to buy them?

That appears to be a modified sprinkler valve...

The first cannon looks like a big qev piloting and piston-in-a-tee cannon. I'm sure a nice performer but nothing really out of the ordinary.

The second cannon is probably a CO2 driven, cartridge based PB grenade or rocket setup similar to the Eclipse.

Hm never really heard of a pulse-valve. Sounds interesting though. I bet that cannon costs about $800 and up, the grenade launcher even more. Very cool though I'll have to take a look at them.

I could be wrong but isn't the 1.5" ASCO valve that everyone had one of a while ago described as a pulse valve?

http://cgi.ebay.com/8353C33-Asco-red-ha ... .m20.l1116

it appears that i'm right!

and it fits with the picture of the cannon with the pulse valve as the main valve!

Good call Ali!

Here are some specifics about the valve. That way all will know the specs.

Like you mentioned, a few of us got these last year from e-bay for $15.
That model number was the 8353H038.

ok, so starman, the part of the cannon you are reffering to as the piston valve, is actually not, its the breach loading mechanism, so that big silver valve is doing all the work, and thats why i feel its different than a qev

also i just posted that grenade laucher because i though you guys might think its cool, it was built from a current commercially availible paintball rocket launcher valve, not exactly sure how they work, but they are also very fast opening, and have numerous advantages over a sprinkler, i talked to the guy, and he said he was trying to find a way to just sell the valves, which is unfortunatly hard due to the whole liability issue, il keep you guys posted on that

also after asking the guy who built the cannon, he said he aquired 8 of these valves (which he said normally go for $90 a piece on ebay for $15 a peice. god bless ebay. i then asked if he wanted to sell me one but he said he had plans for all eight of them
sounds like hes going to be busy.

and ali, thats the same thing i found on ebay, but do you think that that is a 1.5in? it looks a lot smaller so i sort of ignored it. i think il shoot that guy a question

One of these with a pop-off pilot should be just the ticket for a golfball auto, *hint hint Dewey-1 hint hint* :D
