Golf balls are quite flexibility, I agree with the comment that they ill flex.

Now you need a pressure transducer and a [big] dynamic load cell :P

Then maybe have a slightly larger barrel...assuming that they flex symmetrically and enough to make up the (~)few mm gap.

Or just grease the barrel maybe, so even if the ball does flex, it can't grip and cause bulges in the barrel from pressure building up. But if it flex's too much, grease wont help much.

What pressure would one need to obliterate the GB inside the barrel?

Rag: I have thought of the problem with the GB flexing and jamming but i don't think it will be much danger of damaging the barrel.
Possible it will reduce the efichency and maybe destroy the GB's but nothing more.
If it jams in the beginning of the barrel its sleeved so it can withstand the high pressure and if it jams further down the pressure will have dropped to safe levels, at least i hope so.....
If i cant get GB's to work i can always make my own ammo, and it it explodes i will have a real cool video. :D
Push to test... Release to detonate.

No, you're probably right. The other thing is that the golf balls are unlikely to generate such high friction against the wall that the accelerative forces involved couldn't just overcome them.

Actually, what are the yield and failure pressures on that barrel?

I can't tell you that - but if it's going to happen.... well.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

 Damn. I've done machining before, but that is nice! Did you thread those yourself (on a lathe maybe?)

Please don't dig up old threads. It tends to get people annoyed.

Every part was CNC machined by him on lathe or mill.

To be honest, this is the kicked up thread which annoys me the least :D

Yeah, JSR is right. This is one of the few threads I don't mind being kicked up.

I just realised how small the gun is. I mean it's tiny! But with such a high mix capability it really doesn't matter.
