We shouldn't be discussing the use of homemade spudguns for shooting living things. However, for academic purposes, this table is from the Beeman Airgun Field Use guide:
By the way, could you post the link to the topic about the gun?
Sorry about the "killing rodents" comment. Yeah, I plan to modify the blowgun valve as shown in "The Sprinkler valve" by Raganrok I think it was, that will help the power too. I plan to take this gun up to 150 psi at max. If I get a shock pump, I may take it up to 200 psi, will the blowgun hold that?

Ok, well, whoever made it, I thank them, I never knew that you could mod a blowgun valve, and that will improve my gun.

I see what you mean, but I'm not advocating the use of spudguns for hunting. It's just a fact that airguns are used for legitimate pest control and that was an indication of the sort of power levels they require, to put muzzle energy into perspective.

I've personally used this type metal blowguns at 500 psi without incident, I believe that others on this forum have subjected them to similar abuse and suffered no failures either.
That's a standard husky blowgun, the one that is about 3 1/2" tall and can be picked up at any home depot? The one I bought said 90 psi max....

yeah, so you think it would be safe at say, 250 psi?

ok, thanks, and will it still be safe to 250 after it is modified as seen on "The sprinkler valve"?

yeah, I just don't want to blow my hand up and get shrapnel in my face. So, will it be ok to 250 psi when modded?

Yes... When people say that something failed, it usually means that it leaked, not that it went boom. And no, it will not leak! I saw the question coming...
