Nice distance there. I actually planned on measuring this way with my advanced combustion (well a couple more weeks then it'll be finished).

Do you own all that property or do yours neighbors allow you to fire over there houses? haha I know mine wouldn't.

A friend of mine owns the top half and he knows the guy who owns the bottom half so getting access was just a phone call.

@psycix: It was pretty much dumb luck we found the ball. The grass wasn't very tall it being winter but the ground was pretty rough so there wasn't that much rolling possible. My son was about 30 yards or so away from the sound of the landing and just started searching in the general area. That mark does represent the "roll to" mark...but there was no huge land then bounce..and bounce ...and roll going on here...terrain would never allow it...grass too thick and ground too rough.

Starman, I would think when you pick this bad boy up that that cam locks would not support that kind of weight. I mean that barrel has got to be heavy so doesn't it bend down when you pick it up where the burst disk is snapped in? I was also wondering about how you got the 1.5 SDR 21 to line up properly with the 2 inch cam locks. When you sleeve it, it wouldn't line up right and the ball would smack into the outer rim of the barrel wouldn't it?
I have some leftover pipe in my basement and thinking about putting it to good use. I found this site and have 4 pages of fueling, sparks, fans, ratios, burst disks, SAFETY, and building notes. Your gun though seems to be the most polished and "biggest bang for the buck". I might try to see what I can come up with as far as a 700 yard shot.

Wow! Very nice job. I really like the propane injection system. Makes things less complex on the gun. Also, your "ignition chain" system is a great idea. I like the use of XLR cables!
