this is my first pneumatic and second gun, the chamber is about 16-18" total of sch 40 pressure rated 1" PVC, but because some of it is above it is a little over 1' long. the barrel is just under 2' 6", the valve is a half inch ball valve, the schrader is from a bike tube and epoxied in with J B weld, which seems to not stick good to rubber but still made a seal, but needed to be fixed.I got all parts but the schrader and ammo at Lowe's, and I used all in one pvc "blue glue" to seal the parts together.

Nice gun but Id be careful shooting AA's as the chemical they leak can be harmful.

Shame it's just a ball valve, invest a few $ in a sprinkler valve, mod it and your eyes will be opened to a world of MOAR POWER! :D (and a launcher that's much easier to aim)

gun started to leak around gauge and schrader, going to rebuild the section from the tees and back. is it normal to have problems when putting a Teflon taped metal (probably brass) thread into a pvc endcap? how should I put a schrader(from a bike tube) in an endcap?

1 - If you do not plan on removing the schrader or pressure gauge, just drill a hole in the cap, smear some good ol' JB Weld on the threads, and work them in the hole. Another option is to use threaded bushing and plenty of teflon tape around the threads.
2 - To put a bike schrader into an endcap, drill a hole through the cap that is the same size as the shaft of the schrader and work the schrader in backwards (from the inside of the cap, out)
3 - Begin to consider JSR's suggestion on upgrading the valve. Remove the ball valve and replace it with a sprinkler. Check out the link in my sig for any information you will need.

I've always used metal (chrome) shraders from auto supply stores.
They have a larger diameter metal base. (but cost like 5$ for two),

I needed a 1/2" drill bit and no $$$ at time, so I found a relative who's front door had no peep-hole installed...convinced them, a "peep-hole" is a good upgrade for security and all...they bought the peep-hole and I needed 1/2" drill bit (for installation) ,that I still use today (years later) for installing shraders. :D

For automotive shraders Just drill 1/2" hole (read package "rim hole diameter") through end cap and install the rubber washers (each side) and tighten the nut and metal washer it comes with. 8)
