And also about why I forgot to respond..

This time my reply is late because I have been thinking about it and I have come up with the simplest solution

You could use two Tee sections so you can align it better..
Double up the trombone joint..and it can still slide and revolve around the reservoir, yet in a controlled fashion..You could use a cut out on the joint and a stopper ( squared section of pipe-wall) soldered to the reservoir to keep it from fully revolving around the reservoir.

You could also put a spring between the trombone joint and the endcap on the reservoir.
That would keep it closed when firing.
Most elegant solution there...

Yes, exactly my next step.

If there were 2 stops, one open to the left for loading the dart, the other to the right for pulling the Trom-Boyn into the breech, it would be a delight.
