Hey guys, every once in a while, I like to take some time and search for Airsoft Mines and other equipment.
I came across this and I am just wondering what type of valve is used for firing the device?

Is it some sort of pop-off valve?
What kind of Valve is this?

I'm assuming one could call it that. I'm guessing the pressure in the reservoir pushes the "pin" upwards. when it reaches a certain point, the pin lifts a pop-off valve and released the gas out the bottom.
Thats my take on it at least.

so you think its a popoff valve that operates a piston?
this one is better valve. it's more precise than a friction timer. i've already copied the concept and it works perfectly. it's almost too simple.

The delay system in the tornado grenade is like the one used in my aerosol grenade rounds, but works exactly opposite. Instead of leaking out, mine fills the volume to initiate the piston valve. I have been using this system in paintball grenades for years. The firing piston is the same as in the Eclipse, using differential surface area.
i prefer the leak because i wouldn't want to throw the thing on the ground only to let it suck in a bunch of dust.Instead of leaking out, mine fills the volume to initiate the piston valve.
yea i've noticed. the eclipse is what sold me on the valves power. the eclipse is awesome.I have been using this system in paintball grenades for years. The firing piston is the same as in the Eclipse, using differential surface area.

The volume chamber is completely sealed, so there is no way for anything to clog the mechanisms. Either way seems to work ok. I just like the safety factor, since a leaky o-ring won't cause a misfire.
