I know that there will be people here who will call me an absolute tit and tell me to look at the how-to section but so far I have and I hasn't really helped me.

Can someone please explain in great detail how to make a 1/2 inch self-closing piston valve?

I'm completely lost.

There's nothing difficult about that piston... they're all store bought parts screwed together in a certain way... it's about on the same difficulty as making somthing out of lego...

Only hard part might be troubleshooting it if it doesn't work.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

If you do, then you try again and then again until you get it. That's how you develop skills and confidence.

Perhaps a lock is in order now that he has what he needs? Just to avoid any flaming.

take a 1.25'' tee, solvent weld a 1.25'' to .5'' bushing in it, glue on a female adapter on the other end, mold a piston with a sealing face (bolt on the sealing face) put a good bumper in it, then put a threaded male end cap on the end, then thread a nipple into the end, then screw on a ball valve and put a quick connect valve on the end of the ball valve so you can hook it up to a compressor (assuming you have one) and you have yourself a nice piston valve.

now, this information is useless to you unless you know how to solvent weld, use a tap and die, and mold a piston. like you said... do some research.

when i built my first piston valve, i didn't completely understand how they worked, but i followed the instructions and followed what others had done and it worked. after i built it, i understood how it worked. please dont ask to be spoon fed anymore...

edit- dang, im pretty good. my instructions are pretty much the same as the ones in that post. ( i didnt read it before i wrote this.) isnt that kinda funny? it really is easy.
