I am making a high pressure pneumatic air gun and the chamber is made out two 1/2" brass tees with a 6" nipple between. The threads are going to be the weakest/leakiest part, but I have soldered the threaded joints as opposed to using PTFE tape. Soldering the threaded joints seemed to work very well because the solder flowed into the joint well, but is it such a good idea? And the big question: could I take this up to 600-800psi with a safety factor of 3-5?
Thanks

At work we sell brass tees. For a wile we sold ones that looked like it was machined from 1 solid block of brass. Now we sell ones that are look like they are cast, they are much thinner. The old ones never came back. I have seen several of the new ones come back returned, used on high pressure washers that have split or separated in some way.

I have a friend who has a home made co2 filling unit thingamabob for paintball. its made out of standard plumbing fittings. I'm in no way implying that its is safe or the right way to do it, but so far it has worked.
