Nail Riffle made using a pneumatic nailer (Damage Pictures)

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

What paintjob should I do on it?

Hey guys,
This is my first post on this forum. Even tho, I have a lot of experience in both combustion and air cannon.
After going through this forum, I discovered a way to use a pneumatic nailer as an airsoft gun. From this idea, I decided to create an air riffle out of this idea (found here: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/nail-gu ... rt,15.html )

I named it...the Nail Riffle.
It shoots paper darts with nails in them. It has a pretty long breech so I can use arrows. At 100 Psi, I get ranges of about 200 ft flat. This project cost me arround 20$ worth of materials, considering I already had a nailer laying around my workshop

EDIT: I have some damage pictures.

2 shoots at a 1/2'' thick wood board

1 shoot at a piece of aircraft graded aluminum

Don't forget the poll! Tell me what paintjob should I do!

Damn... love it :D

I take it the air tank is not connected to the barrel, and the tee is just a support?

Also how is the nailer connected to the PVC... just epoxy?

Good work, though it's a shame you didn't take advantage of the semi-auto option a nailer valve offers.

The problem is that the semi auto function was a real pain in the but to make it work everytime. So instead, I use a ball valve to fill it up then I empty it by pressing the trigger.

Yes the T is just the support. The way the nailer connected to the PVC is by the giant rubber gasket in the nailer. It is pretty tight and it allows me to swap barrels. Pretty good!

man thats pretty nice! :o

but i've one question, how much air does a nailer release each time you shoot? (enough to shoot some larger projectiles like bigger nails?)

I can't believe no one's mentioned it, but what's a riffle?

Other than that (and the dwv), nice gun :D
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.
