I'm wondering if anyone has plans for a tennis ball cannon. I'd prefer a pneumatic cannon but combustion would work just as well. I'm already looking for a summer project

You'll need a 2.5" barrel, hard to come by in a store so you might have to buy online from one of Spudfiles' sponsors.

Apart from that, you can make the cannon anyway you want. Look through cannons in the showcase section, all you need to do is a put a tennis ball barrel on a cannon to make a tennis ball cannon. Goodluck.

Reed just make a big chamber and get a big sprinkler and add a 2.5" barrel... Then it's off au Canada!

luke, i think imma just build myself a 2 inch piston valve piloted by a blowgun (if that works?) and make a golf ball cannon like u said

Heres a simple one or you can make a piston valve, Mr.Crowley has instructions for a 2 inch one here http://www.instructables.com/id/Golfbal ... That-Shoo/
All you have to do is put a 2.5 inch barrel on it, check your local pvc supplier if you have one since lowes does carry it

Edit- Beat by a minute and Id go with a sprinkler valve as a blowgun may not work if you dont have a small enough pilot volume

Reed a blowgun pilot would be decreasing your gun's full power. A 2" piston would be best piloted by a modded sprinkler or something.

A blow gun would only work with a small pilot volume, o-ringed piston, and near perfect construction. It can be done, JSR pilots his biggest through a schrader, but that cannon was built to high tolerances. If you really want that trigger like feel, pilot with a SV or smaller piston valve/QEV
