I have one of the Kobalt CO2 regulators, but it has a really bad cooldown issue, so I can only get about 1 second bursts before losing pressure.

Would putting an expansion chamber between the tank and the valve remedy this problem?

yes... that should help... but also, how do you have your tank mounted? if it is anything but vertical you might just be getting liquid in the line and then into the reg, you can fix that with a check valve. OR you could just run HPA... I'm not familiar enough with the Kobalt regs, so i dont know if it can run HPA safely, but thats another option if you are having icing issues.

Edit: if you do put an expansion chamber before the reg, make sure it is safe with un-regulated CO2. Im sure you know, but if you get liquid in the expansion chamber on a warm day... bad things can happen

Yes, putting an expansion chamber between your launcher and the regulator should help solve your problem, but I'm no expert when it comes to using CO2.

Anti-syphon tank running verticle along with an expansion chamber will, well, should solve your problem.

I have a Koblat C02 reg that gives me no issues. It actually shouldn't be doing the cool down effect or spewing liquid.

I do run mine vertically, as it was designed (hang from the hip is how it was designed). Maybe I should try it on its side to see if any issues arrise.

OK, maybe Im not calling this the right thing then.

What happens is, as I start firing the BBMG, the pressure rapidly drops from the PSI I had to set to to like 20 PSI, so the BBMG stops firing. This process takes about a second. I always thought it was a cooldown issue, but maybe I was wrong. Any know a solution?

I've only been on spudfiles for the last week, but have spent that week building a vortex block BBMG. The BBMG is in reasonably well working order (especially for a first try ).

.... The problem is that it works testing using HPA from a compressor at the shop. Today I picked up the Kobalt CO2 regulator and have been having the same problem. It's like with the hose attached it take a few seconds to recharge after each burst.

At the same time, I hope it's just a leaking from the connection points... will check an respond tomorrow.
