Mathematics : a logical way found by man to explain his surroundings, and expand his logical and abstract comprehension of the universe.
I suspect the point of the thread is simply that a number of residents of this board are engineers, scientists etc. To them, the near total lack of understanding of basic principles (e.g., "precisions" <> "accuracy") which pop up constantly in newspaper reports, creationists, HHO, perpetual motion, etc. gets to be a bit annoying.

well let's face it... It doesn't matter much that he was wrong - anyone can make a stupid mistake... everyone ha probably written something stupid at least once

but the fact that he hasn't acknowledged this yet is something that annoys me... this suggests that he is either: too stupid to realise he was wrong or that he is a troll
and I don't know which option is worse
