Well the reason of the two regulators are simply that i was able to get two for free. I also thought that if i had a pressure to high between the two ball valves i could just unscrew the second one and exhaust some of the propane without having to change the pressure on the first one... but the main reason was that i had two of these. And the igniter being directly mounted directly on the gun was because i didn't wanted to have it taped anywhere on the gun and i liked the idea of shoulder launch and i put so much polyurethane on it that it covers quite a large surface and it's rock solid. I also put some washers coated with rubber to prevent the two fan screws to get out but the idea of dilling where the pipe and the fitting overlaps would have been a safer solution, i agree.

Yep, looks like a good build. Clean too.

The only thing I see wrong is the non pressure rated bell reducer. Considering you have that I would guess there's more non pressure rated pipe/fittings... Not much to worry about on a combustion, bu I wouldn't want to hold that by my head...

standard abs is typically cell core so it's not that safe, but it is a combustion cannon so it's should be okay

Well the only reason i used ABS is that it is more elastic than PVC. If it breaks i want it to crack open and not explode

In my testing ABS Cellular Core works fine and passed several tests that Sched 40 PVC fail.

My test cannon is going into the 8th year of use. Still going strong.

The biggest problem is it is soft enough and flexible enough that Cleanout Caps tend to blow off of them. Don't stand directly behind one.

There are several examples on the internet with higher power applications (Acytelene or oxygen added) that has split ABS. It is true it tends to split lengthwise and not shatter into shards.

On close examination of the photos of the cannon, it looks like something besides black ABS cement was used for assembly. Please tell me it was glued with the correct glue. Many glues do not bond well to ABS. ABS cement will solvent weld the stuff.

Yes it was properly glued. The black and shiny stuff is abs primer and the yellow one is abs cement

Nice job! Not sure what kind of "grinding, cutting and tapping" you did on your propane bottle adapter...all you should have to do is unscrew the crooked torch pipe out of the valve adapter housing. It's locked in pretty good with an epoxy of some sort but it can be broken loose with some big pipe wrenches or a pipe wrench and a vise and some he-man effort.

Once the torch pipe has been unscrewed, you can screw a 1/4" compression (tube) brass fitting in there...usually a 1/4" tube to 1/4" NPT brass adapter will do the trick.

Excellent job David. The only nitpick I had was brought up by SB15 in the first reply, so I'll leave it at that.
