What gave you the bright idea to write a controversial essay about our hobby?

I just can't see this being helpful when it is designed to be argumentative from the beginning. These kind of things all ways seem to draw out the bad/negative side of our hobby in-which tends to be a sticking point.

Just make sure you clear it with PCGUY if you plan on mentioning Spudfiles.

I agree that it could cause a little controversy but it should be fine as long as you focus on the positive aspects and give good reasons why the negative point and rumors are not true.

I wish that was the case. I've seen enough people join forums for things they don't like in order to troll, gather "evidence", etc, etc.

Not that I'm saying that you're doing that, but you can't take it as a given that someone likes something because they're on a forum associated with it.

normally guns and school dont mix. shit happens when you bring a gun to school, not when you write about them in a essay. unless that essay hs to do with shooting up a school.

first my teacher is like 50 something and never leaves the confines of the library. when i to him about my topic and my viewpoint (spudguns all the way) he said he had never heard of people building homemade launch systems, hes fucking stupid.[/quote]

I think if you write a good essay with good points then you have nothing to worry about. If you write the essay like you're some 12 year old kid wanting to get revenge on your principal, then it wouldn't be a good idea

Personally I think it'll be fine. Just a chance for someone to educate another person about the advantages of building spudguns and how you can build and operate them safely.

To be honest I saw a kid walking around school with an air cannon in his backpack. The barrel was filled with water and it was used for an "assassins" game.(It's a senior thing.)The administration obviously had no problem with it or maybe didn't know what it was.
