Is the black square the regulator? I think it will work as long as the pilot side pressurizes first except for the ammo loading part. I think the clip needs to be blocked when the piston is back, not when it is forward.

That is how my airsoft semi (piston rebuilt yesterday) works - the loading mechanism is connected to the piston, just like here, but it will only let in a BB when the valve is closed. Nice to see more people using this idea.
