mini co-axial piston cannon

i just finished this cannon the other day, its a co-axial piston valve cannon with a 3/4" 14" barrel and 1" pressure chamber. the back end of it can be unscrewed to service the piston which is just a bottle cap with pvc tape around it to seal it and a 1/16" rubber disc to seal against the barrel.

for its size it does pack a punch, but to increase its performance im thinking of replacing the back end and installing a pneumatic sprinkler valve to vent quicker like i hav on my larger co-axial.

i wanted to make a cannon that kinda looks like a machine gun, with the sprinkler valve i think it'll look alot better.

when i get a chance i will measure the speed of the marbles leaving the barrel with my new chrony i just got i'll let u know what the results are.

ERR... It doesn't.... I tried it today at Home Depot to see if I could make a 3/4 piston. Typo perhaps??

yeah there isn't alot of space thats why i put that handle on there which stores pressure too, its enough to launch a marble pretty far though.

painting it was pretty simple, just a base coat of olive drab then when that dried afew dots and streaks with a can of black paint. looks pretty cool i reckon

That is most likely 1-1/2" or 1-1/4" pipe. I can't even get 3/4" pipe to fit into 1" pipe.

You're right. I said the same thing. Unless they have some kind of SDR 1" that he used...

I'm saying it's maybe a typo. 3/4" doesn't fit into 1" usually. It's most probably 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" pipe for the chamber.

Only way to find out for real is to get the author's answer.

Awsome cannon i always wanted to make a co-axial because they are like really powerful but they seem hard to make.

ok the larger pipe is 1 1/4 ED and 1 1/8 ID
the barrel is 7/8 ED and 11/16 ID

all the markings on the pipe and fittings say 25mm which is an inch so thats how i got confused[/img]
