yesterday i started on this little project and today i put the finishing touches on it. it is a high pressure mini 3 way valve with 1/8inch ports that i use to get semi auto out of a piston valve. oh and i only have 3 store bought parts on it, part of a small bolt, a washer, and a nut :D

to start took a chunk of aluminum and cut it to size, then i drilled the hole for the spool to ride in and the ports for the air source and pilot of a piston valve to screw into. the finished body

<a href="http://s696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0147.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0147.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
and
<a href="http://s696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0148.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0148.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

then for the spool i took a steel rod and shaped it on the drill press. then i made my own seals out of a rubber sheet. that right, no boughten orings for me 8)
the spool with spring removed
<a href="http://s696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0150.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0150.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

and i connected it to small piston valve to test the semi auto
<a href="http://s696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0145.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0145.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

and with a fire extinguisher as a 400psi air tank for it
<a href="http://s696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0144.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/vv32 ... 0_0144.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

i made it with all hand tools and only 2 powertools, a drillpress and grinder.

it works perfectly for semi auto and with that tank i can get alot of shots.
the only problem is that the chamber on the piston valve gets hot with continuous fire...

they seal perfectly and work better than orings for this
i originaly had orings on it but since they were floaing the friction got kinda high at 300psi making it hard to move the spool, also the oring ont he exhaust side would blow off. now that i made my own i have less friction and no more blown off seals

How exactly did you make them, just cut them out with a pair of scissors? Valve looks great.
That is all.

Ok very cool, are you building a gun especially for the 3 way?

first i drill a hole of the correct diamter for in iner part of the seal, then cut a rough circle with a scissors, put it in the drill press on a arbor bolt, then with the drill press at top speed slowly bring it to the right size and shape with needle files,

and yes i will be making a gun to use this valve, the current plan is a pellet gun using the tank and piston valve shown in the pics
